crumbled and rolled

outsourced, so afraid of incoming
mail, she preheated a croon before
she baked her head. & perhaps

sighed, she strolls on main lawn
where grease had crowned
her creased brow
a spiral tent is there now

its pinnacle flag flying,
striped, narrow but bright-
it’s stitched with delight.

    hmm, the ampersand, it is a spectacularly good poem, brilliant.

    • why thank you. if you want a little background: it’s about antioch college, its closing and subsequent reopening. it’s one of those page-turners where the underdogs eventually come out the winners. it makes good poem fodder
